He has a degree in Military Sciences - GNR Specialty from the Military Academy. He has a post-graduate degree in Safety and Hygiene at Work from the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, and a post-graduate degree in Law and Safety from the New University of Lisbon. Professionally, besides being a trainer in several traffic courses, he was Commander of the Traffic Detachment in several sub-units. In international terms he was part of a technical advisory mission to the National Police of Timor-Leste, in 2016/2017. As a senior officer he was Deputy Chief of the Operations, Information and Public Relations Section of the Fiscal Action Unit and Chief of the Operations, Information, Training and Public Relations Section of the Madeira Territorial Command.
