Brigadier General Rui Romão joined the ranks of the Portuguese Air Force (PoAF) in 1988 to become a Pilot. Currently he’s the Director of the General Officer Course, at the Military University Institute. Previous assignments include: Alpha Jet Instructor Pilot; Alpha Jet Squadron Commander; PoAF Aerobatic Team Leader; Professor at the Military Higher Studies Institute; Military advisor of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces; Military Counselor at the Portuguese Delegation at NATO; Commander of the Students Body at the PoAF Academy; Operations Head and Director of the Joint Operations Center at the Portuguese Joint Operational Command and Commander of the PoAF Military and Technical Training Center. Married. Father of two sons.
